Morgan's first experience of rowing was in gigs at Castle Dore RC in Cornwall, and he soon decided that he wanted to win Olympic gold. After developing his classic rowing skills at Walton RC, he first represented GB as a junior in 2013. Following success with Oxford Brookes University BC and at GB Under 23 level, he rowed at his first senior World Championships in 2019. At Paris 2024 he became Olympic Champion in the Men's Eight.
